This is mainly because Holst used the same tune in the famous Suite Pauls suite. I love how Holst combined the compound duple and simple triple rhythms in this piece. Hope you enjoy. If you perform or record please let me know. Constructive reviews always welcome.
04/06/06 In answer to the last two 'reviews': In the first case this is not a song, (I think this shows the standard of the musical education of the reviewer). He says it does not sound right with brass instruments, a fair comment except that Holst wrote the piece for brass and woodwind. The other reviewer says that I missed part of the 6/8 melody line over the greenselves tune, not the case I'm afraid, there are places in the original where the 6/8 tune stops, and the bass line is correct.
