The German composer and organist, Gottfried August Homilius, was a pupil of J.S. Bach, and master of Johann Adam Hiller.He studied privately with J.S. Bach. Homilius predominantly composed church music. This Motet for mixed choir has a Cantus Firmus in the bass-part on: "O Patris caritas", in the Netherlands nowadays known as the Christmas song "In dulci jubilo". This instrumental version can be played bij SATB recorders.
