The opening theme was first sketched many moons ago, when I was a student but only decades later found the right framework and impulse to form a complete work. The style is full-blooded late-romantic (for which I make no apology), with just a few touches of bi-tonality.
Originally scored for a chamber orchestra, this is a revised version for full orchestra, prepared for a prospective performance.
