This is my orchestration of Gluck's 'Che faro senz'euridice' written for Pavarotti in 1977. It was recorded in the Kingsway Hall, London with the Philharmonia conducted by Piero Gamba. The original key is a fourth lower, so to maintain the sonority I divided the first violins and the cellos in several places. The harpsichord part is perhaps a little over-written, and if I'd know the player was going to be Lesley Pearson, who had just come back from recording the Water Music with Karajan, I would have just given him a figured bass.
