Originally written as part of a series of String Studies, this orchestration adds parts for flutes, oboe, clarinets, bassoon, horn in F, trumpets, trombone and timpani. It makes a pleasing and rhythmically dynamic addition to concert repertoire for young players. Having regularly directed such ensembles, I have given wind, brass & percussion parts sufficient rests to rest the lips without leaving time to lose interest. Although the key will suit strings better, the wind parts should accommodate Grade 2/3 players
