’Islands & Mountains’ is a traditional melody from Papua New Guinea, and was arranged for wind-military band at the request of the Director of Music Chief Inspector Pala Walo, MBE, of my former band, the ’Band of The Royal Papua New Guinea Constabulary’, for the National Day Celebrations in PNG during September 2005.

I hope you like my arrangement of this old traditional melody, and for anyone who has lived and worked in Papua New Guinea, I hope it conjures up the atmosphere of a weekend on the beach or beside the pool, with a bottle or two of SP beer!
