This is a reworking of the orchestral version but is altered significantly in the middle section
The piece is in the form of a Concerto Grosso for string quartet and string orchestra. It received its first performance in the Concert Hall of the Royal Northern College of Music in 1986.
There have been further small adjustments in February 2006
