Written in 1903 and premiered in London’s Royal Albert Hall, it was Sousa’s intention that Jack Tar March would become a signature march for the U.S. Navy. Jonathan Nelson’s arrangement of this march for concert band knocks the difficulty down while keeping the edge on the music. This arrangement is perfect for young bands that want to experience a crisp Sousa march below the medium level. A fun and entertaining addition to any concert.
