This is the third in a series of arrangements for saxophone quartet.

Johann Strauss, Jr., the "Waltz King" also wrote other popular music for the Viennese public including polkas, galops, quadrilles, and schottisches, as well as his 13 operettas.

This piece, "Perpetual Motion," is a musical joke. A theme is tossed about in the orchestra in a series of variations that go on and on. Even at the end the piece keeps going, the quartet fades out as though the piece were continuing over the hill just beyond the range of hearing. A version of this piece for clarinet quartet is also available. See my website for these woodwind arrangements and more than 160 other arrangements (mostly for string quartet). http://stores.sibeliusmusic.com/jacklichmusic
