This scherzo and trio may seem a little long at first - well over 700 bars - but remember, the pace is fast and furious and you can easily miss a hundred bars simply by blinking! There is a (slightly) more gentle trio in the middle, before the pace hots up again and the movement finishes with a slightly altered version of the scherzo. The bars going into the trio should give the effect of a gradual rallentando rather than a sudden change of tempo, with a gradual accelerando when returning to the scherzo. These effects Sibelius does not do well, so you will have to imagine them.
