You are purchasing high quality sheet music PDF files suitable for printing or viewing on digital devices.The version for full organ of 'Adagio Lamentoso' had its first public performance in November 2002, with a second performance at the Brighton Festival in May 2003. I then decided to arrange the work for a string orchestra to exploit the wider compass this offers as well as the scope for a clearer delineation of the voices.
In August 2008, I revised the arrangement for a possible performance and made a number of minor changes, particularly in the closing section.
A technical point - the arrangement calls for double basses that can descend to C below the bass stave.
