This piece comes from the collection of Lieder ohne Worte (Songs Without Words) by Felix Mendelssohn (1809-1847). This was originally a piano work that I transcribed for Brass Sextet (2 trumpets (in C), French Horn (in F), Trombone, Bass Trombone and Tuba). It makes for a very effective arrangement with this instrumentation bringing out the dark and powerful qualities of this melancholy work.
