unknown from Concerto No. 2 in D major for harpsichord and orchestra - I Allegro gentile

Duration
6 minutes
Genre
Modern classical music

I have on this website two very different harpsichord concertos. The 1st one was input in MIDI in 1996 (therefore gets No. 1) and notated in 2009 (with some changes in the final movement) (added 18 January 2009). The 2nd one was composed in 2005 (with some small revisions in later years) (added 23 November/12 December 2006). The solo part of the 2nd is more demanding and virtuoso than in the 1st. Here I present the 2nd harpsichord concerto. It consists out of three movements. The 1st movement is fast and in sonata form. The 2nd movement is slow and also in (a free) sonata form, and I like it very much. The 3rd (and final) movement is fast and in rondo form. There is a cadenza in the 2nd movement. Please do not listen through MIDI but enjoy the MP3 made with Kontakt Player Gold and feel free to review.

Which method of viewing music should I use?

Score Exchange has two methods to display previews of music: seView which uses regular html and javascipt and the Scorch plug-in from Avid which needs to be downloaded and installed onto your computer. Both have advantages and disadvantages:

seView

seView, is the most compatible option. You should be able to view music on all modern web browsers including most mobile devices. Even if your device does not support javascript you should still be able to preview at least page one of the music.

You do not need to install any additional software to use seView.

Scorch

Scorch is a free plug-in from Avid for displaying and printing music. It can also play the music that you're seeing. As modern web browsers are updated, Scorch is no longer compatible with many browsers. Scorch has never been compatible with mobile devices and some web browsers on Mac computers.

If your web browser does not install Scorch automatically, you can click here to download and install scorch manually.
