I have written a musical loosely based on the story of the Cottingley Fairies, in which two Edwardian schoolgirls took photos of fairies in the garden. The musical is called ‘Once Upon a Time’ and I have included here the songs from the score numbered in the order in which they appear. I’m afraid I don’t have the means to record someone singing the songs so have kept the original ‘voice’ that Sibelius supplies. Still, I hope that people will listen and be intrigued to want to stage it or at least suggest theatre groups who may be interested. I haven’t included song 7 from the show because that is for voices only and its effect needs to be heard with real voices rather than the synthetic one from Sibelius. Tracks 8 to 18 use a solo instrument for the vocal part rather than the voice from Sibelius as I think the instrument makes the melody line clearer. The difficulty and instrumentation varies from song to song so I have just lumped them all under one type.
