Emily Flathers

Emily Flathers grew up in a Minnesota home full of hymns and classical music. After studying piano and violin at Iowa's Luther College, she came to Arizona State University and studied a variety of music, including jazz, Caribbean styles, and all things operatic. A child of 80's pop, Emily also counts as her influences Broadway, Big Band & Swing, and Gospel/Bluegrass.

A state-certified music educator, Ms. Flathers focuses on writing and arranging music for elementary choir and methods for recorder, guitar and piano. She is a member of the American Orff-Schulwerk Association and participates regularly in Arizona Kodaly Teacher's Society workshops. She is certified Level II in both Orff and Kodaly.

Emily's other specialties are Christian songs and custom songs for special occasions and individuals.
