Dan Ainspan

Dan is currently a junior at SUNY Oneonta, majoring in Music Industry and minoring in Audio Production and Percussion Performance. He is from the Albany area, and has been playing percussion for 10 years.

He has played in many different ensembles, including the SUNY Oneonta Jam Band, Percussion Ensemble, R&B Band, Zappa Band, and the Hartwick/Oneonta Rock Orchestra. Dan has also played in the Capital Region’s Empire State Youth Orchestras for 4 years, and was selected as a NYSSMA All-state Alternate in the Spring of 2009 and 2010. Dan has also played in his high school’s jazz band, orchestra, wind ensemble, and pep band.

In the spring of 2012, Dan was voted to be President of the Drag N’ Rolls Drumline. Within the next couple of years, Dan hopes to have the SUCO Drumline ready to play for various sporting events and community events on and off campus. Dan is also a member of the Audio Production Engineering Club. Dan is currently in the Classical Percussion Ensemble and has been taking marimba and drumset lessons with Dr. Julie Licata and Blake Fleming. Dan has also studied under Dr. Joe Pignato, Richard Albagli, John Antonio, and drummer Joey Pucci from Joey Pucci and the American Longboards.

Dan is always looking for opportunities to play or for studio work and other projects.
