John Michael Park

John Michael Park is a composer and musician from North Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. As a youngster, John had a keen interest in music; playing piano, oboe, clarinet and saxophone as well as dabbling in creating his own compositions. He opted however to pursue a career in the sciences and was very successful, co-founding and managing an awarding-winning environmental laboratory which culminated in his taking an early retirement. This allowed him to return to his passion for playing and composing music. He was aided in this pursuit by the encouragement of his loving wife.

John has composed over ten works for concert band which have been performed by various community and school bands throughout the Vancouver area. He has also arranged over forty pieces of world and folk music for the small ensemble which he founded, Rondo Muzika , several jazz ensemble pieces and composed many small pieces for piano.
