Petra Spasojevic
Serbia
Petra Spasojević was born on the 22nd of December, 2004 in Kuršumlija. Due to the need for special education, caused by the commonly named „incubator blindness “, at the age of six she moved to Novi Sad to attend classes at the elementary school "Dr. Milan Petrović. “ Petra was inclusively involved in regular classes at the elementary school “Sonja Marinković", which she successfully completed in the 2018/2019 school year. In 2014, she enrolled in the Music School “Isidor Bajić”, in Novi Sad, to study piano lessons in Ana Frlin’s class. At this moment, Petra is a four- grade student at the “Isidor Bajić” Music High School. During her previous years of schooling, Petra participated in numerous domestic and international piano competitions, where she won the highest recognitions and awards. Of all awards, she would highlight the “Special Award for Author’s Work”, which is the first prize in the international competition for her composition in 2020. In addition, the maximum number of points on most competitions and two laureate titles at the “Festival of Pianism” in Sremska Mitrovica and the “Festival Isidor Bajić” in Novi Sad can also be added to the list of her achievements. There is a large number of performances behind Petra’s huge success, and this love for the stage motivates her to improve herself and conquer the hearts of the audience with her music. Consequently, as her most triumphant debut, she particularly singles out her first solo concert in her town Kuršumlija, when she was only twelve. In 2019, at the age of 14, she performed as a soloist accompanied by the Youth Philharmonic in the Novi Sad Synagogue, under the baton of a conductor Tamara Adamov Petijević. Then, in 2020, as a representative of Serbia, she performed at the competition "Virtuosos V4 + We play in the same language" in Budapest, where she won two major awards, ’’The Special Award and The Audience Award“. Afterwards, she performed at Kolarac, at the concert of a world-renowned violinist Nemanja Radulović. Furthermore, in May 2021, she held a concert in Niš, accompanied by the Niš Symphony Orchestra and conducted by Milena Injac. Her wish is to grow as a pianist and a composer, and to show the world how boundaries and prejudice can be broken when you sincerely love what you do.
