Alexander Gilev, born on November 12, 1965 in Russia Education: Moscow State Conservatory, Military Band-master Faculty, Moscow State Conservatory Post-graduate Experience: doctor of arts, professor of Military Band-master Faculty. Laureate of the 5th City of Le Havre International Composition Competition in 1994, France. Laureate of MUSIC & POST Composer Competition in 1999, Maribor, Slovenia. His creative manner is distinguished by natural fusion of various styles – impressionism, neoromaticism, avant-garde, rock. New ways of expressing musical ideas are combined with top professionalism, sophistication, ingenious communication of subtle nuances of human psyche. The composer dares to employ trenchant sound combinations which go together harmoniously with rich melody and colouring. The orchestration palette shows brilliant command of various elements of orchestration texture and expressiveness. Alexander Gilev's works have justly gained popularity and are performed at different venues not only in Russia but also abroad played by celebrated orchestras.
