Barbara Holm

Barbara Anne Koenen Holm received a BA in mathematics from the University of Minnesota and a MM in Flute Performance from The Boston Conservatory. She became interested in composition later in life. She has studied with Larry T. Bell of Boston, Chris Granius (MacPhail School of Music, Minneapolis), and Carol Barnett. Her arrangements for flute, violin, and cello are done specifically for these instruments, taking into consideration the unique qualities, ranges, and possibilities of each. They are used by The Legacy Ensemble of Minneapolis, of which she is a performing member. She continues to be an active composer, arranger, performer, and teacher, and she believes that music should offer a meaningful experience to both the performer and the listener.
