Katherine Sharp Heim has been involved in music since she was nine years old. In addition to her duties as Choirmaster at St. John's Episcopal Church in Lancaster, Ohio, she operates a private music studio teaching piano and voice, and she is a soprano with the Lancaster Chorale. Kathy received her BA in Music Education from the University of Alabama in Huntsville. Prior to relocating to Ohio in 2007, she was music director at St. Thomas Episcopal Church in Huntsville, Alabama. Other past positions include Associate Director of the Huntsville Community Children's Chorus, Children's Choir Director at First Presbyterian Church in Huntsville, and Music Teacher at UAW Chrysler Daycare. Kathy also introduced the Kindermusik program to Huntsville, starting the first Kindermusik studio in the area. She is a past member of the University of Alabama in Huntsville Concert and Chamber Choirs, and Village Singers, Nashville Symphony Chorus, Huntsville Community Chorus, Huntsville Schola Cantorum, The Bach Consort, and a founding member of Vox Angelica. Kathy has served as housemaster at RSCM summer courses, music leader for dicocesan spirituality retreats (Alabama), and is a member of the Voice Care Network. She enjoys writing and arranging music for her choirs and private students.
