Mike McDonald

I have been a musician for most of my life, but only as a performer. These compositions are a first time attempt at composing anything of substance other than solo instrumentals for trombone, which is my instrument. I was a music major in college, but never pursued that any further. I played in the 77th Army Band and the 9th Infantry Division Band while in Vietnam. I have then played in numerous community bands including one that I conducted. I now play in the Asheville, North Carolina Community Band, and the Haywood County Community Band. I am also the webmaster for these organizations. I live in Waynesville, NC and invite any nearby Sibelius subscribers to contact me. My composition, Pickett's Charge, has been picked by the director of the Asheville Community Band (90 members strong) to be played on one of our conerts this year. We are currently rehearsing it.
