I am in my final year in the choir of winchester cathedral, where I am deputy head chorister and for whom I wrote my piece O Magnum Mysterium. I am thirteen year old and have recently gained a music award to Eton, and will sit Common Entrance this June. In 2006, I won the CSA chorister composition competition with my anthem King Herod and the Cock, judged by Jane Cox, head of composition at the purcell school odf musioc. I play the violin, which I am around grade 8 at, and piano, which I am roughly grade 7 at. However, my first love has always been writing music. I have written quite a lot of choral music, mainly on whim, and have written a bit of instrumental music. I recently wrote the music for my school play, A Midsummer Night's Dream, which was written for double violin, flute, clarinet, horn, and keyboard. I also set to music Oberon's speech 'I know a bank where wild thyme blows,' for Baritone, clarinet, and piano. I will try to post as much of this music on this site as possible. I will hopefully take up the organ when I go to Eton. Please review some of my music; I am desperate for external feedback!! I'm bored of the same people seeing my work over and over again, and I would love some other opinions.
