Arthur Kay

I majored in Music at Loyola University Chicago, graduating in 2005 with a focus on guitar performance. I studied guitar under Steve Suvada, and I also studied composition under Peter Aglinskas and Bjorn Berkhout.

Growing up during the 1980s and 1990s, I was heavily influenced by the pop-culture of the day. "Grunge" music (particularly Soundgarden, Alice in Chains,and Nirvana) inspired me to first pick up the guitar, and I havn't put it down since. Infused with my classical studies at Loyola, my compositions attempt to create a fresh perspective for tradiational ensemble performance. These songs bring out the Rock Star in the performers without delegating them to a garage band.
