C. Roy Taylor
Thank-you for visiting CRT's little piece of the Internet. Please, if you listen to any of the music leave a review - good or bad!
Born in Manchester, UK, CRT is almost exclusively self-taught in music theory, composition and the piano, although he did study violin and clarinet to a basic level at school. Music composition is a hobby although it is CRT's ambition to hear one of his works played by live performers - any offers?!
Professionally, having studied and worked with a number of Fellows of The Royal Society, 34-y-o CRT holds degrees (including a PhD) in physical sciences and was a lecturer at Imperial College, London before a return to his native Manchester where he currently works in education and development.
CRT's compositions extend from solo piano works to orchestral pieces and keyboard concertos (piano, organ) via pieces for smaller ensembles.
At his very first submission to spnm's Call for Works (in 2001), CRT's Sleepyhead Dreams for string quartet was "highly commended" by the reading panel (see http://www.spnm.org.uk)
