Born in Rochford, Essex in 1972. I studied music at the Colchester Institute (specialising in composition under Alan Bullard) where I gained a B.A with 1st class honours, also winning prizes in piano and composition. I continued my studies at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama where I completed an Mmus in composition under Malcolm Singer and Robert Saxton. I currently work as a full time peripatetic music teacher for Thurrock Council and Essex County Council, as well teaching privately.

I have had several pieces performed, most notably: Fanfare for Brass Dectet, first performed by the Grimethorpe Colliery Band, November 1997 as part of the Festive Fanfares competition. Old War Dreams, first performed by Jane Manning at the SPNM Showcase Concert as part of the Spitalfields Festival, June 1997. To Emilia V, first performed by Sarah Walker as part of the contemporary voices project at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama, June 1996. Etudes for Harpsichord, first performed by Ryoko Yaguchi at the Spitalfields Festival, June 1996.
