Michael Blackwood

Michael Blackwood is an educator, musician and composer from the St. Louis, MO area. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Secondary Education (Instrumental Music) from the University of Missouri-Columbia in 2001 and a Master of Music in Composition in 2014 from Webster University, where he studied with Kim Portnoy. His works have been performed with various school, honors and community orchestras in the region. His symphonic overture, Euphoria Overture, won a place on the inaugural Missouri Composers Project concert in 2012.
