Composing was never a possible career for me; just a hobby that I started about five years ago when my private lessons teacher gave me version 1.1 of Sibelius. (What a nice present!) No one has taught any music theory to me; I know some of the basics by my self-teaching and listening abilities.

As you can guess, I am a trombone player. My hometown is in Rochester Hills, Michigan. Although I am not a music major, I have been very active playing trombone in groups at Michigan such as the Michigan Marching Band, the Hockey Band, and the non-music-major concert bands and orchestras. I currently reside at the University of Oklahoma, striving for a PhD in meteorology. Even here I have lpayed in groups such as the OU Civic Orchestra and the OU Trombone Choir directed by Dr. Irv Wagner. I like to compose for some of my free time because I like to listen to music that is authentic: created solely by myself. Even if there are range, playability, or organizational problems in the music, I create them to express myself and to share with you all on this website.

My favorite composers are mostly from the Romantic period, with my favorite composer being Tchaikovsky (especially his 4th-6th symphonies, and his lesser-known Manfred Symphony!). I also enjoy Mahler, Prokofiev, Beethoven, Rimsky-Korsakov, Bernstein, Shostakovich, Schubert, and Stravinsky.

If anyone would like to play any songs publicly, please contact me. I would be very honored if you would like to perform one of my pieces, and I strongly encourage live recordings so that I may hear your interpretation (no worries on how well the performance goes, I don't care!)
