I learned to read music at an early age as I studied cello at middle school. Much later in life I was given a piano by a very generous friend who was moving to germany. When I revisitted sheet music I found it almost second nature to translate directly onto the piano keyboard (if only the converse were true!)
Many years later I have given up on being a virtuoso performer but still aspire to write music that is as inclusive as possible. The more people get to play good acoustic music the better. This often means giving away sheet music that has taken an age to transcribe onto sheet. However, the intention is to leave the best legacy to future generations of music makers !
