Norman Durrant

Born 1952, studied music at Southampton University and Music Technology at Reading University. Worked for many years as a teacher, pianist and conductor but now work as a freelance composer and pianist. My compositions are many and varied and include works for amateur orchestra and chidren as well as music for professional ensembles. My work covers a wide range of styles and recent commissions have included a setting of the Gloria for Choir, Orchestra & Soloists (to be premiered next year) and a Fantasy for Viola & Piano. Works currently under way include an opera based on the Twits (for which I am looking for a sponsor) and a Concertino for Piano & Brass Quintet.
