Philip Andrews

Philip Andrews was born in the small market town of Alton, Hampshire in 1951. He comes from a musical family, and it was his father - a musician himself � who taught him to read music at the age of seven. Although originally a brass player in his youth, he later changed to saxophone, which is now his main instrument. As a saxophonist he is a regular member of a concert band, with whom he has performed across Europe. He also conducts the band on occasions. This association has naturally led to many arrangements and original compositions that have been performed frequently for this particular genre. His taste in music is very diverse, with a strong attachment to jazz and classical music. For many years he was a member of a choir where he sang bass, and it was during his time with the choir that his love and knowledge of choral music, and choral writing was gained. He now combines performing and composing, and works as a music teacher in local private schools.
