Philip Armstrong is an international composer who has lived in and visited many countries and cultures, and now lives in Weimar, Germany. He was born in England in 1961. He began composing at the age of 10, and studied composition with James Illiff and electronic music with Paul Patterson at the Royal Academy of Music in London, and composition with Peter Racine Fricker and computer music with JoAnn Kuchera Morin at the University of California, Santa Barbara. His music spans a range of interests from computer music for tape or dance groups to orchestral, chamber and solo works for instrumentalists. His music has been performed in the US, Canada, Japan, Hong Kong, and across Europe.
