Rudolf Bodingbauer was born on January the 14th 1937 in Bad Zell in Upper Austria (Austria). Since he the age of 9 he was taught playing violin and clarinet. From 1957 to 1963 he studied clarinet and viola at the university of music and interpretative arts - the “Mozarteum” - in Salzburg. In 1963 R. Bodingbauer made his clarinet-diploma. From 1957 to 1968 he was musician and “Musikmeister” in the military music unit in Salzburg. 1959-1968: Teacher at the schools of folk music of Salzburg. In 1968 he was the band master of the guards in Vienna. From 1968 up to his retirement in 1995, Mr. Bodingbauer led the military music unit of Styria in Graz as bandmaster. 1972-1997: Director of music of the Styrian brass music association. 1972-1997: Part-time lecturer at the university of music and interpretative arts in Graz. 1979-1998: Freelance at the Styrian studios of the Austrian Public broadcasting (“ORF”). After some other studies at the university of music of Graz, R. Bodingbauer received his Master of Arts in 1985. In 1992 he was given the title “Professor” by the Austrian Republic
