I'm a graduate of Gettysburg College with a B.S. in music education and the Ohio State University with an M.A. in music theory and composition. I taught high school choral music for 13 years in MD and PA before starting a career in computer software where I worked over 20 years for Sprint/Alcatel data networks as a trouble shooter of switch software. I am now retired and live in a cabin in the woods in the Amberson Valley in PA. I'm more interested in creating a system of composition than composing. For several years I've explored using an icosahedron to order the 12 pitch classes into subsets which may be used in a composition. Think of it as a three dimensional 12-tone row. The short demo piece found here is based on an icosahedron whose vertices have been assigned from the cycle of 5ths, which is, of course, a 12-tone row!
