I was a high school music educator for many (many) years and have been music education faculty and director of the JSC Concert Band at Johnson State College in Vermont for over a decade. I have an MFA from Sarah Lawrence College in Early Music Performance, direct and perform in The Fyre and Lightning Consort, a group dedicated to the study and performance of music written before 1750 and play trumpet in The Nisht Geferlach Klezmer Band, Vermont's Finest (and only) Klezmer Band. I have arranged numerous pieces in a wide variety of styles for Concert Band and smaller instrumental ensembles. I choose pieces that I think will be enhanced by the sonorities of the instrument ensembles I write for and that will "translate" well from their original form to that of the instruments I score.
