A trifle, just for fun. A short programmatic suggestion for flute and piano. It envisions a suburban dweller’s daily trek into the office. The day breaks into a lovely Spring morning with the sun shining and the birds singing. Alas, after inordinate delays in the public transportation system our commuter arrives at the office tower. There’s a mad dash for the elevator and a race down the hall to the desk arriving just as the clock strikes the hour marking the beginning of the workday! Inevitably our commuter is left panting and gasping for breath :-)
Oct. 2008: There are a modicum of phrasing changes, not enough to redo the separate flute part. The player can easily pencil in the changes in the part as reflected in the score. JV
