This is a setting for choir (SATB) and organ of words by the well known hymn writer J M Neale (1818 to 1866). The words were written for the dedication of a new bell at St. Mary the Virgin, Bampton, Oxfordshire on 2nd December 1865. The anthem would of course be suitable for any service for bell ringers.
