This study is intended to develop finger patterning, dexterity and control of leaps and arpeggios. It can be transposed, used at different dynamics and with dotted rhythms instead of semiquavers.
The really important thing for this study is to have good control of your abdominal muscles (sometimes incorrectly called your diaphragm). Using these muscles to push air into the instrument is how you will achieve a smooth flow over the arpeggios and larger leaps.
