Nayo (April 14, 1922-1993), a friend and one of the most gifted Ghanaian composers of the modern era. Nayo’s orchestral pieces, Volta Symphony, Accra Symphony, Overture reconciliation, Atlantika (submitted in partial fulfillment of his Master of Music degree in composition at Boston University in Massachusetts), make significant contributions to African Symphonism. His sacred choral pieces are among the finest in that genre.
