Composition of the pieces was given impetus by my admiration for J.S. Bach’s Italian Concerto. However, other than the three-movement form (a slow aria framed by two faster ritornello based movements) the link remains tenuous. Bach wrote his Italian Concerto as a response to critics who said his music was overly serious.
The MP3 files were taken from recordings made by Kathy Gunn, a gifted professional musician active in the area of Sutton, Surrey.
