I’ve put this one off for years. The intension was a sonata – the form did not quite adhere. All parts are closely related; belonging together. Technically it may be better described as a suit. I might add more when in future years.
This first movement or part draws on my younger formative years; Experimental, impetuous, foolish, non compliant, determined, exciting, tragic, happy…. The cadenza takes a lot of practice to get close to fast. But once the arpeggiated shape of the chromatic decent is familiar it flows nicely form my experience, but I’ll never do it justice. The sostenuto is a matter of taste if there is no third pedal.
