ALL THE RIGHT SKILLS for big band- This piece starts out with an energetic groove in the rhythm section that moves the entire tune forward. This is a Grade 4-5 piece for high school jazz band. It’s a mix between a latin and r&b groove. The harmonic content makes use of added 2 chords throughout. An open solo section is followed by a drum and horn treatment. The last chorus relies on an offbeat cymbal groove in the drums. There are no doublings and there are optional vibes/percussion and tuba parts.
