Air and Variations on ’Brother James’ Air’ for Organ
An air and three contrasting variations, in the style of John Stanley, on ’Brother James’ Air’, a hymn tune composed by James Leith Bain, who was a Scottish minister at the end of the 19th and beginning of the 20th century and known as Brother James.
Although the suggested stop registration is for three manuals, all movements only require a small number of light stops and therefore can very effectively be played on a small two manual instrument.
