乐曲讲述了我接受科学主义的过程，缓慢的赋格中插入前三个乐章的录音。奏鸣曲部分的主旋律改编自单曲《青春的曙光》，随后在发展部又呈现开头赋格部分。谐谑曲第一部分是法国和奥地利情调的圆舞曲，我借此讽刺了上层和中等阶级贪污的表现，不按照自然规律办事。后半段部分呈现第一乐章的扩展部分，并在各个乐器组上发展。结尾的主题在第一乐章后部已经呈现，但我再次加填充，以数学归纳法的形式证明观点的合理性。
