A Nocturne was composed for the Wallace Prize, held at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama on May 16th 1996. The brief was to write a short acapella choral work of around 4 - 6 minutes for amateur choir, with an English text. The pieces were performed by the English Chamber Choir conducted by Guy Protheroe and ajudicated by Terry Edwards.
