The Field Where We Used To Play is a composition for SSA Choir and Piano by Martin Watson. The piece is about the British Army infantry suffering around 60,000 casualties as they advanced across the fields by the river Somme in Northern France on the 1st of June 1916. Such losses were a national scar which still hasn’t healed.
