Little is known about Paul Destribaud; he was a musician born in 1828, and was a friend of the composer Félicien David (1810–1876), of the caricaturist Henry Monnier (1799–1877). and of the poet Leconte de Lisle (1818–1894). Among the few compositions we have, we find 2 more melodies from him: "Chanson de Fortunio" (1853) and "Au bord de la mer" (1885).
