These are the two movements to a symphony under the Spanish title "Soliloquios" (Soliloquies), the first movement of which I started writing in 1967 on the campus of Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México in Mexico City while I was studying Architecture. The second movement was added in 2011. In analogy with literature where there exists the genre of "short story", I tried to invent the "short symphony" in music, consisting of only two movements of which the second should have slow passages alternating with lively ones.
