Originally conceived as an alternate arrangement for the piano part of Mozart's "Elvira Madigan" concerto (K. 467 in C), it somehow ended up as a single-movement piano and orchestra piece in Mozart's style. The full title, "Overture Concertante", comes from the fact that an overture is written like the first movement of a symphony, but it's "concertante" because it has a piano! I whipped it off over the course of a few months during the spring term of college, no less.

Because I based it on some of Mozart's concertos, it's by no means entirely original. But in this particular case, I was being a bit lazy. ;)

If you are interested in having this piece performed by a full orchestra, e-mail me and I'll send you the parts for another $10.00. Feel free to leave comments!
