This piece for viola and piano was inspired by a visit to Chanctonbury Ring (actually before the Great Storm took out a number of trees, but the magic of the place is still there.) The piano ostinato is the constant tramp of time (the place feels very old) while the viola expresses the sense of nature and the great outdoors.
